Hollywood Night

I had to post this shot.... it is authentic and I did snap it!

This is my wonderful husband with actor Tim Allen.  We had the privilege of meeting Mr. Allen, along with several other stars last night at a benefit we were invited to help raise funds for disadvantaged children.  While I am not typically taken in by the star factor, it was refreshing to find that many of them are just regular people who were very generous when it comes to helping children.

Fun Fact

When I have time and thought, I love to blog.

Thoughts are brewing.

Time is... well, one must make time for good things.

Working on that!

100 Degrees...

It's April 20th(!!) and I might add... unseasonably warm today!

I'm beginning to understand why people talk about summer here like they talk about winter there.

Modification

I've long been desiring to switch things up with my blog layout.
That along with a good chunk of time to capture this new season in photography.  And a bigger chunk to better delve into the three books that have captured my interest.

My camera has recently made it's way into the hands of motocross madness - which kept it busy this week with a trip to the desert and then to the beach (photos forth coming).  Not quite what I had in mind for capturing beauty.

So I tackled the blog thing today.  Check that off my list.... I think.  Not sure I'm completely satisfied with what I've done here.  However, it was fun to play.

Any feedback?

Talking to Grandma

This is what it looks like when a girl needs to catch up.

She always manages to move about or find the perfect spot to
rehash all of her life's details with each of her Grandma's.

Math Olympics

Last month Halle and three other 4th grade students went to the ACSI Math Olympics.  This was quite an honor, one that instilled both pride and courage.

I can comfortably tell you that her math skills were not inherited from her mother.  English, grammar and words perhaps, but surely not math.  There were some knocking knees (for both of us) to start out, but I encouraged her to use this as an opportunity to grow in her own confidence.  Having made it to the competition was prize enough.

In the end, it was decided that this is something Halle wants to strive for again next year, which is especially inspiring to me.  She rose above her fear, was pleased for her classmate who took first in the the region for 4th grade and came away wanting to be challenged.

I'm learning from my children.  Cool.

Incapacitated

Ever had a cut on your index finger?
Ever notice how "in the way" a cut on your finger can actually be?

I sometimes wonder if that's what God thinks of the things that
occupy my time.... things that often "get in the way" of my focus on Him.
